What You Will Do:
Registered Nurse (RN)-Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/SAFE-Relief-UM Shore Medical Center at Easton
Provide crisis intervention during the initial review and an assessment of injury
Objectively document history to determine the bio/psycho/social risk and the risk of medical sequelae
Objective document history of the crime
Collect, document and package forensic evidence for crime lab analysis
Delegate the role of patient advocate to a rape crisis volunteer
Provide medical and psychological follow-up referrals
Provide expert testimony in court
Maintain contact with the SAFE Coordinator and Advisory Board in reviews meetings and be available if requested
Respond to any subpoenas on cases examined while associated with the SAFE program
Assist with education of Police, ED Staff, State Attorney s Office and the community
Attend 70% of SAFE monthly meetings (8 per year)
Share on-call responsibilities with other SAFE members insuring coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Minimum of 16 hours of call per pay schedule and ability to safely respond to a sexual assault call within 90 minutes.
